Eco Friendly Salon Products.
Life is full of important decisions. From the mega to the mini, the choices
we make on a daily basis define who we are, mind, body and soul.
We at Pantages Salon & Spa continue to strive for perfection in helping
you decide what’s hot and not in the world of hair, fashion and accessories,
but this fall we’re taking it to a whole new level.
Please allow us to introduce to you Pantages’ new ecoFriendly salon
products, a line of shampoos, conditioners, detanglers, sprays, mousses,
creams and gels that were created with you in mind by Pantages owner
Cheryl Baynton and her staff.
All 17 products were prepared in the gentlest way possible to help
protect our Mother Earth. All ingredients are as ecoFriendly as possible,
all containers are recyclable and all products are EcoChic to help you look
your best!
Welcome to the new Pantages, welcome to the new you.
What was wrong with the old you, that’s what you’re thinking, right?
Nothing, of course, it’s just that those old beauty products you’ve been
using forever are as outdated as leather pants. They get the job done, but
the possible affects they have on you and the environment are potentially
devastating.
Pantages products are free of DEA, SLS and parabens, ingredients that have
been linked to five types of cancer and various heart and skin diseases – please see reverse for
specifics. Our new ecoFriendly salon products contain natural ingredients such as keratin proteins,
brassica oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, eucalyptus, aloe vera and glycerine, products also include
sunscreen to keep your hair protected from the sun’s harmful rays.
Pantages is going green in a big way and we’re excited you’re along for the ride. Life is full of important
decisions and this is one of them, try our new products and show Mother Earth some love!
The truth about DEA, SLS & Parabens.
Next time you’re in the shower take a few seconds to read the back of the bottle of the shampoo
or conditioner you’re using.
Let me guess, it contains DEA, SLS or parabens? Possibly all three? Don’t worry, you’re not alone.
Many of us are using products that contain these ingredients without even knowing it.
The truth is that each of these products has been linked to harmful side effects.
-DEA (diethanolamine): According to the Cancer Prevention Coalition (CPC), “DEA is used widely
because it provides a rich lather in shampoos and keeps a favourable consistency in lotions and creams. DEA
by itself is not harmful but while sitting on the stores shelves or in your cabinet at home, DEA can react with
other ingredients in the cosmetic formula to form an extremely potent carcinogen called nitrosodiethanolamine
(NDEA). NDEA is readily absorbed through the skin and has been linked with stomach, esophagus,
liver and bladder cancers.”
DEA, SLS & Parabens
-SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate): Judi Vance, author of Beauty To Die For, found that A - “Sodium Lauryl Sulphate can cause
cataracts in adults and delays the healing of wounds in the surface of the cornea,” B – “SLS has a low molecular weight and so
is easily absorbed by the body. It builds up in the heart, liver and brain and can cause major problems in these areas,” and C –
“SLS causes dysfunction of the biological systems of the skin.”
-Parabens (methyl, propyl, butyl, and ethyl): The Breast Cancer Fund believes consumers should we weary of parabens
because “Parabens are absorbed through intact skin and from the gastrointestinal tract and blood. Measurable concentrations
of six different parabens have been identified in biopsy samples from breast tumours. The particular parabens were found in
relative concentrations that closely parallel their use in the synthesis of cosmetic products.”
Sorting the facts from fiction can be adventure, as you know, so we encourage you to do some research of your own. Don’t
take our word for it, we’ve made up our minds, but you’re free to make up your own.
The Third "R".

There was a time when you couldn’t go anywhere
without being encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle,
nowadays that just isn’t the case. Pantages is on a
mission to bring recycling back though, and we’re
hoping you’ll join in.
Here’s the deal: Bring your empty Pantages product
back to Pantages and we’ll give you $1 off your next
purchase of Pantages products.
We will either refill or recycle the product packaging,
depending on what it is, to ensure that not a single
empty container of Pantages product is recklessly
thrown out with the trash.
Not Tested on Animals

Pantages is proud to have produced an ecoFriendly
product that will not harm Mother Earth, but we’re
also very proud of the fact that our new
products were not tested on animals.
The British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection
estimates that 50 to 100 million vertebrate animals are
used worldwide for testing annually. This is a disgusting
trend that ensures thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea
pigs, rats, mice, amphibians and fish are killed every day.
Your pet is precious to you and these animals could
have been the same to someone else; testing on
animals is wrong. Thank you for supporting
a company that understands that.
